The status code depends on what was wrong:

  • 409 – the shipment itself is in a state that doesn’t allow the operation. For example, you attempt to manifest a shipment that has not been allocated yet, or cancel one that is already cancelling or cancelled.
  • 400 – your request asked for states the operation doesn’t accept. For example, a manifest request that selects shipments by state with anything other than allocated or ready_to_ship.

Retrying the same request won’t help. Fetch the shipment to see its current state.
