Tip

The system_shipment_state error code is returned when you attempt to use a state value that is reserved for system use.

There are several "transition" states that a shipment may temporarily enter into during the course of its life, these include:

• allocating
• manifesting
• cancelling

These states are controlled by the Sorted platform and cannot be used by customers.

If an attempt is made to use one of these states, the response will include the error code system_shipment_state.
